Report: Archbishop of Canterbury expected to visit Romania

The Archbishop of Canterbury is expected to visit Romania next week, Universul.net has learned.
No official announcement has been made, but church sources said Justin Welby, who heads the Church of England, will be in Romania from March 13-15.
The context comes a year after Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine. Both Britain and Romania are NATO members and close political allies and trading partners. They also cooperate closely on crime.
The Archbishop is expected to have a series of high-level meetings with politicians and the Romanian Patriarch Daniel.
He is also scheduled to visit the 102-year-old Church of the Resurrection in downtown Bucharest.
The last Archbishop of Canterbury to officially visit Romania was George Carey in 1993 when Teoctist was the Romanian patriarch.
