Romania has 900 cases of coronavirus, and the killer bug has caused 13 deaths

The number of coronavirus cases jumped to 906 on Wednesday in Romania, while thirteen people have died from the COVID-19 in the country.

The Strategic Communication Group announced 144 new cases in the past 24 hours. Patients were aged 3 to 79. Eighty-six people have recovered since the outbreak began several weeks ago.

All 13 people who died were elderly with underlying health conditions, such as heart problems, diabetes or obesity.

There are currently eight people in intensive care who are in a serious condition.

A total of 6,016 are in institutionalized quarantine, while 96,000 are in self-isolation at home.

Some 14,466 tests have been carried out so far, the latest figures show.
