Romania recorded the EU’s highest annual inflation rate in September for the seventh month running, at 4.8%, the bloc’s statistical office said on Thursday.
By contrast, Slovenia marked the bloc’s third-lowest annual inflation and lowest among EU member states in Southeast Europe last month, at 0.7%, compared to an EU average of 2.1%, Eurostat said in a data release.
In monthly comparison terms, Bulgaria’s consumer prices marked the sharpest decline among EU states in SEE in September, at 1.1%.
Meanwhile, Greece recorded the largest monthly inflation in the SEE region, at 1.8%, while the EU as a whole saw a monthly deflation of 0.1%.
