Romania to allocate $800,000 to Ukraine through NATO mechanisms

The Romanian government will provide Ukraine with more than $800,000 to strengthen its defense, the foreign minister said.
Bogdan Aurescu said the money would be made available through the NATO Defense and Related Security Capacity Building Initiative.
His remarks were made at a ministerial meeting of the Alliance countries, Ukrinform NewsMaker  reported.

Aurescu confirmed that NATO will continue to support Ukraine for as long as was needed. “

“As I said before, if we want peace in the region, in the Euro-Atlantic space, we have to help Ukraine win this war, there is no other option,” Aurescu said.

At the same time, the Romanian minister added that other NATO partners who found themselves in a vulnerable position during the war also need support.

“We must also support other vulnerable partners in the region, such as Moldova, which is the target of Russia’s destabilizing actions,” he said.
