Romanian spa resort finalist for 2023 New European Bauhaus Prizes

The Legacy Center in Baile Figa inaugurated at the end of last year following the implementation of a project with European funds by Beclean Town Hall has been selected as a finalist in the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Prizes 2023, organized by the European Commission.

According to the Town Hall’s press release, the Legacy Centre is among the 61 projects selected in the final of this competition, out of more than 1,450 applications submitted.

„The European Commission recognizes Beclean as an example of good practice within the European Union, the town on the Somes river being noted at the most important annual competition dedicated to projects carried out with European funds, thanks to the newest project: ‘Legacy Recreation Centre’, finalist in the New European Bauhaus Champions (Strand A) – under the third category: Prioritising the places and people that need it the most. Beclean’s project was selected among the 61 finalists of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Prizes 2023, being selected from over 1,450 applications from all EU Member States, following an evaluation by independent experts”, the document says.

The project carried out by Beclean in the spa resort of Baile Figa, which received European funding of about 5 million euros, can be voted for on the following website until May 24:

The winners of the NEB Prizes 2023 will be announced at a ceremony to be held on 21-22 June in Brussels.
