At the end of May, a Russian drone crashed on the roof of an apartment building in Galati, and the Russian ambassador was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be informed about measures that would be taken.

Maria Zakharova claimed that “agitation” created around the drone incident in Romania was to distract attention from what she called Ukraine’s killing of children in Starobelsk.
On Wednesday, Romania’s lower Chamber of Deputies tacitly adopted a draft proposal to “urgently and immediately” start negotiations to unite with neighboring Moldova, a former Soviet republic. Russia opposes the move as it considers Moldova to be within its region of influence.
