Switzerland not so neutral after all

Swiss public broadcaster has revealed that Swiss machinery is manufacturing Kalashnikovs and other weapons in Russia.

Despite sanctions imposed by Switzerland, Swiss company GF is contributing with high-precision machine tools.

Russian soldiers are using  AK-12 Kalashnikovs in Ukraine.

These are manufactured in Russian arms factories with machine tools from the Swiss company GF.

Russia propaganda presents this proudly.

When asked for commentary, the Schaffhausen manufacturer says they were delivered in 2018, seeming to forget the existence of Crimea.

“No sanctions or other export control regulations have been violated in this context.”

But SuRf has found that over a hundred machine tools from Swiss manufacturers have gone to Russia since 2022 via third countries like Turkey.
