Automobile Bavaria Group has launched the Corvette brand, an expression of freedom, style and courage to innovate, in Romania.
Dating back to 1953, the Corvette is more than a sports car: it’s a statement of sportiness, tradition and innovation. Over eight generations, the brand has retained the DNA that has established it: a two-seater sports car, an iconic design and the unmistakable sound of the V8 engine.
A NATIONAL PREMIERE: THE FIRST OFFICIAL CORVETTE PRESENTATION IN ROMANIA
The launch of the brand in Romania was celebrated on Tuesday at a press event at the Casa Albă Restaurant in north Bucharest where automotive journalists and special guests had the opportunity to discover the world of Corvette. It was the first time the American legend has been brought to the local market, courtesy of the Automobile Bavaria Group.
“The Corvette is a legend of the automotive industry. Personally, I first drove a Corvette C3 in the early 90s, then owned two other models,” said Georg Pfeffer, CEO Automobile Bavaria Group.
He said he remained a Corvette admirer.

The event marked the official debut of two of the most iconic models in the Corvette range: the Z06 and the Stingray.
Corvette Z06 – The supercar born on the track, ready for the road
The Corvette Z06 impresses with a 5.5-liter V8 engine with flat crankshaft, delivering over 670 hp – the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever fitted to a production model. With an aggressive design, top-notch aerodynamics and advanced traction control technologies, the Z06 offers a driving experience that electrifies every moment.
Corvette Stingray – A Modern Reinterpretation of a Legend
Equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine and 495 hp, the Corvette Stingray accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.5 seconds, while maintaining a high level of comfort for everyday use. The driver-oriented interior with premium materials and state-of-the-art technology makes every journey a memorable experience.
ELECTRIFIED PREMIERE: CORVETTE E-RAY
Starting in May 2025, the range will be completed by the Corvette E-Ray – the first electrified model in the brand’s history. With a high-performance hybrid system, the E-Ray combines the V8 engine with a front electric motor, offering all-wheel drive and a total output of 655 hp. This model meets the demands of a market in transition, without compromising on performance or excitement.

The launch of Corvette in Romania confirms Automobile Bavaria’s strategy to be a promoter of innovation and diversification in the premium automotive segment. With this expansion, the group offers customers a complete range – from sustainable mobility, to pure performance and iconic design.
