Four people were murdered at the shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia. These were students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both only 14 years old, 39-year-old Richard Aspinwall, a math teacher and football defensive coordinator, and 52-year-old Cristina Irimie, a math teacher.
She was remembered by her love of dance by the Saint Mary Romanian Orthodox Church, only 10 minutes away from the school, and its sister church, Constantine&Helen, where she was a volunteer.
She was known for her kindness and calm as a teacher, and had brought homemade baked goods for her recent birthday on the very day of the shooting, as well as for her wonderful relationship with her husband, her generosity in the community, and her sunny demeanour.
Born in Apoldu de Jos, she was a teacher in Sibiu before emigrating to the United States. She lived in Georgia for 23 years.
Shockingly, the shooter responsible for these devastating crimes, Colt Gray, was a 14-year-old student at the school. He is currently having four counts of felony murder. He is currently held without bond at a juvenile detention prison.
