For third day in a row, Romania reports more than 300 new Covid-19 infections

For the third day in a row, Romania reported more than 300 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the cumulative total to 23,400 since the pandemic started.

The Strategic Communication Group said Friday 320 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours, the same total as Thursday. There were 345 cases on Wednesday.

Some 11,075 tests were carried out since Thursday, giving an infection rate of 2.89%

There are currently 184 patients being treated in intensive care, more than in previous days.

The death count rose to 1,484 with 11 people succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours.

More than 16,500 patients have recovered so far.

Some 1,392 people are in institutionalized quarantine, and 82,236 people are in self-isolation at home under medical supervision/

Some 608,800 tests have been carried out nationwide since testing began.
