Romania rejects territorial claims against Ukraine

Romania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday rejected the statements expressed by the president of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, in his speech on the occasion of the National Unity Day, „which falsely induce” the idea that Romania has territorial claims against Ukraine.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the „war of aggression” unleashed by Russia on February 24 represents „a serious and brutal violation” of the principles of international law, including Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

„In this context, Romania reaffirms its firm support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, within its internationally recognized borders”, the MAE stated.
