Mr. Dan will have talks with German Chancellor Frerdrick Merz and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier during the one-day visit to Berlin.

“We are strengthening bilateral relations, defending Romania’s security through better collaboration in the defense industry, and increasing prosperity with greater private sector investment,” Fritz said in a post, which featured a picture of the leaders on the presidential plane.

Earlier, the presidential administration called Germany “Romania’s main economic partner and a key ally in ensuring European security.”

Romania exported 22.62 billion euros of goods in 2023 and imported 23.66 billion euros from Germany, making it by far its most important trading partner.
