Romanian tennis star Simona Halep has undergone successful nose surgery after “finding it hard to breathe” during the US Open.
the 30-year-old tennis player said she had been “struggling for a while and it got worse during the summer especially in Washington.”
She said she had a blocked nose which made it “hard to breathe and even worse during the nights.”
She said she will take a few weeks off to recuperate after the successful surgery performed by Romanian medic Daniel Popescu.
She also had rhinoplasty—plastic surgery on her nose at the same time. She thanked her anesthesiologist, Alex Uleia.
Ms Halep had a breast reduction in 2016 to help her performance as an up-and-coming world-class player.

It has been a busy personal period for the tennis champion who dropped out of the US Open in the first round.
She divorced her husband Toni Iuruc last week after less than a year of marriage.
She ended her message on Monday on an upbeat note.
“See you soon on the tennis court” she said.
