The Sibiu native was proposed by the CSU for the position of Federal Representative for the Problems of Displacement and National Minorities
Germany’s Christian-Social Union (CSU) Party has nominated Bernd Fabritius, a native of the Transylvanian city Sibiu as the Federal Representative for the problems of displacement and national minorities in the new federal government, the Council Tower reported.
“It is a great honor for me to be, as part of the CSU’s ten-member team, nominated today for a position in the new federal government. I look forward to resuming my work as Federal Envoy for Displacement and National Minorities Issues. The portfolio of tasks is, especially today, a major challenge, which I accept out of conviction and with great joy,” said Fabritius.
Bernd Fabritius last held the position from 2018-2022, as was known for his involvement in supporting displaced people and national minorities in Germany.
The Christian Social Union is a Christian democratic and conservative political party.
