At least one person has been injured after a gunman opened fire at Crosspointe Community Church in Wayne, Michigan, at Sunday service.
Around 150 people were in attendance.
Local Police Chief Ryan Strong reported that people at the church had actually noticed a man driving erratically.
He emerged from his car wearing a tactical vest and carrying at least two firearms.
Someone still at the wheel blocked his access with the truck they were driving.
The shooter then opened fire on the truck.
Since the church was actually armed with security, the security guard, who had bought time thanks to the truck intervention, immediately shot and killed the shooter.
Meanwhile, the security guard himself was shot in the leg.
We do not yet have access to the shooter’s identity, but we do know he was a 31-year-old male undergoing a mental health crisis.
