Donald Trump must have lied as America has become dependent on Ukraine

The war unleashed by the US and Israel against Iran was not even two weeks old when 11 countries had already asked for Ukraine’s help to develop their anti-drone defenses –President Volodymyr Zelensky himself made the announcement.

America was one of them, but, as the president’s public image matters more than the safety of the American military in Trump’s world, he immediately said in his defiant and pompous style: “No, they don’t help us. We don’t need their help. We know more about drones than anyone else. In fact, we have the best drones.”

In other words, the narcissistic leader in the White House, who had just made the most reckless decision in the history of his presidency to attack Iran, could not afford to appear dependent on a country, especially one he hates with all his might.

The fact that lying is normal for Donald Trump even when faced with evidence is nothing new. And the fact that he did it in the middle of a war surprised no one.

But it’s certain he did lie about Ukrainian support for the Gulf operations with the same unscrupulousness with which he recently threatened to wipe off the face of the earth not only today’s Iran, but the millennial Persian civilization itself.

The fact that Trump said he didn’t need Zelensky’s help in the Gulf is easily demonstrated today:

  • Hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers were nevertheless sent to the Gulf and welcomed there.
  • Volodymyr Zelensky made a tour de force of the key countries in the Middle East, and it seems the discussions were substantial.
  • At the end of the tour, the result speaks for itself: Ukraine will receive oil and diesel in exchange for military support, according to Zelensky, securing his army with supplies for next year; At the same time, negotiations continue for additional quantities beyond that.
  • In addition, for its willingness to share its own combat experience with Russia, the agreements concluded by Ukraine with some of the countries in the Iranian firing range will also include deliveries of interceptor missiles to Kyiv, as well as financial assistance.

At a superficial glance, you may be tempted to say that Donald Trump wasn’t lying about US dependence on Ukraine’s support:

  1. Because he was referring to direct aid to America.
  2. Or because, from what Zelensky recently announced, Ukraine has concluded agreements with countries other than America.

But that would only be a shallow bitter look:

  • Trump’s America may not have concluded agreements with Zelensky’s Ukraine, but Ukraine has compensated for a significant part of the obligations that Trump’s America has in terms of defending its Gulf allies; and this, in a war that Trump’s America has unilaterally unleashed, on the impulse of its president and in contempt of the economic and security interests of US allies in the region.

Therefore, when Ukraine comes into play, providing those in the Gulf with experience, knowledge, military plus advanced products of its defense industry, Ukraine is not just helping the Gulf states, but also America.

Kiev thus facilitates the war effort of a Washington already overwhelmed by Tehran’s response, which Washington realistically, has neither the sufficient material resources nor enough know-how resources to sustain in terms of the offensive, its own defense plus the defense of a slew of allies caught on the wrong foot by an Iran infinitely more powerful and resilient than the US president had presented.

By initiating war with Iran, Donald Trump has created a strategic vulnerability for his allies in the Gulf region, and globally he has created an unprecedented energy crisis.

It also placed Iran in a position of strength that it had not been in before the war, as the regime in Tehran today controls traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

Moreover, Trump helped Putin make money that, without this war, he would not have made. Just as Iran itself makes more money from oil today than it did before the war – and is already getting colossal sums from its ad-hoc taxation of ship traffic through the region.

And he helped the Chinese to make an inventor the combat capacity of the American army, as well as the reaction capacity of the American defense industry.

Domestically, Trump has fractured even the fundamentalist ecosystem called MAGA, jeopardized the Republican Party’s chances in the November elections, and weakened America’s economy.

But above all, through the suicidal war with Iran, Donald Trump scored a spectacular own goal: he himself demonstrated that America needs a “country” like Ukraine – both directly and indirectly.

At the same time, after a year or so of struggling to destroy Ukraine, in order to facilitate Putin’s mission, Trump opened up opportunities for Kyiv, via Iran, to access precious resources to help him win the fight against Moscow. He achieved in a few weeks the exact opposite of what he pursued in a year.

The fact that, in just a month and a half of war, Donald Trump shot himself in the foot is obvious. And the fact that he created all the conditions to shoot himself in the temple, becomes clearer every day.
