After the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismael Haniyeh, in Tehran who was killed in Tehran, and senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut, Israel confirms that  Hamas’s military chief Mohammed Deif was killed in an air strike in the Gaza Strip last month.

Israel says Deif was one of the figures responsible for planning the infamous 7 October attacks in southern Israel, in which 1,200 people were killed.

Deif was targeted in an strike on a compound in the Khan Younis area on 13 July.

Mohammed Deif was head of the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigade – the military arm of the Hamas movement.

“Muhammad Deif, the ‘Osama Bin Laden of Gaza,’ was eliminated on 13.07.24. This is a significant milestone in the process of dismantling Hamas as a military and governing authority in Gaza, and in the achievement of the goals of this war”, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said in a statement on Thursday

Hamas is yet to confirm his death.
