It’s a miracle, and a tragedy: one-month old survives the Gaza rubble

A baby’s faint cries were heard under the rubble of a collapsed apartment in Gaza as rescuers pulled bodies from the heap of remains.

“God is great!”, called those who heard her crying.

The intermittent silence between her screams chilled the hearts of those racing against time to get her out.

She was found sprawled on a mattress.

The man who found her sprinted to ambulance crew with the baby in his arms.

She fussed as paramedics checked over her.

Her parents and brother were killed in an overnight strike, which killed sixteen people – mostly women and children. She was born only 25 days before. Her name is Ella Osama Abu Dagga. Only her grandparents survived the attack.
