Nicolae of Romania christens newborn son Mihai at Alba Iulia

The grandson of King Michael I, Prince Nicolae of Romania and his wife Alina-Maria, baptized their son, Mihai, at the Coronation Cathedral in Alba Iulia on Saturday, June 18.

The sacrament of baptism was performed at the Coronation Cathedral in Alba Iulia, a symbolic monument where the coronation of King Ferdinand and Queen Marie took place in 1922. The second child of Prince Nicolae is named after his great-grandfather, King Mihai.

„Nicolae of Romania and Alina-Maria of Romania are delighted to announce the celebration of the Sacrament of Holy Baptism to their son, Mihai, at the Coronation Cathedral in Alba lulia, on June 18, 2022, at 11.00. The baptism took place on Saturday, from 11.00, and the family members or the designated representatives made statements for the press after the service of the holy service. At the end of the religious ceremony, a reception was be attended by family guests, from within the country and abroad.

Nicolae and his wife, Alina-Maria, have been married since 2018 and have another daughter, Maria Alexandra. Nicholas Medforth-Mills received the title of Prince of Romania on the day he turned 25 years old. In 2015, on August 1, his title was revoked and he was excluded from the line of succession to the throne. Prince Nicholas was the third heir to the throne, after Princess Margaret and Princess Elena (his mother).
