Pope Francis has survived a serious bout of illness, and has been discharged from hospital in Rome.
Before being discharged, he offered a blessing from the window of the Gemelli hospital, where he stayed for over a month.
He was seen last week praying in the hospital’s chapel. A crowd of people waited outside.
He will need two months of rest, doctors say. But he no longer has pneumonia.
A voice message showed him still breathless. Francis only has one lung, having had one removed at only 21.
