Pope Francis remains in critical condition after he experienced a severe asthmatic respiratory crisis on Saturday morning that required high-flow oxygen therapy, the Vatican said.
“The Holy Father’s condition continues to be critical, therefore, as explained yesterday, the Pope is not out of danger,” the Vatican’s statement said.
The Vatican said the prognosis remains “reserved,” indicating a cautious outlook as medical teams continue to stabilize his condition.
Romania’s Ambassador to the Holy See, George Bologan, expressed best wishes and prayers for the 88-year-old pontiff.
“We are in solidarity and have empathy for the trials of this FRIEND of the Romanian people, His Beatitude Pope Francis. He has always humbly asked us, to pray for him which we are doing now,” Ambassador Bologan said,
