After weeks of sunny weather, autumn weather will arrive in Romania ahead of the weekend, forecasters said Wednesday.
Meteorologists say temperatures will drop throughout Romania accompanied by wet, windy weather.
The announcement on Wednesday came after days of warm weather with daytime highs of about 20 Celsius in the capital and southern parts.
High winds gusting up to 80 kilometers an hour will trigger an amber alert in the southwest county of Caras-Severin. It will also be windy in southern Transylvania.
It will be a cool, wet weekend in most of Romania, with snow forecast for mountainous areas. In the capital it will be cooler than usual for this time of year. It will peak at 12C on Saturday, falling to 7C overnight.
After weeks of dry weather, rain is forecast for the next ten days starting Friday, with a possible respite on Sunday.
