With that result, the team from the southwest area of Oltenian surged four points ahead of the Transylvanian team, making it mathematically impossible to catch them.
Four days ago, Craiova also won the Romanian Cup.
Universitatea Craiova has 49 points while U Cluj are in second place, with 45 points, with one round left to play in the Superliga play-offs.
