In the territorial waters of Romania, fragments of a drone with Ukrainian identification marks were found. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.

“On Wednesday, May 11, the Romanian Navy was notified of the presence of the wreckage of an aircraft (drone) drifting in the territorial waters of Romania, in the area between Sulina and Sfântu Gheorghe, about two nautical miles from the coast. There were no weapons and ammunition on the sunken drone with identification marks of the Ukrainian Navy“, – the Ministry of Defense stated on its website.

The quoted source specified that the wreckage of the drone was recovered by a ship of the Naval Forces, being later taken over by the Romanian Air Force for the development of the legal identification procedures and the investigation of the circumstances in which it arrived in the Romanian territorial waters.

„From the first information it emerged that the wreck, which bears the insignia of Ukrainian Naval Forces, did not have weapons and ammunition on board. As a result of the air traffic data from the Black Sea region, the aircraft crashed in the Ukrainian airspace, most likely during the actions carried out between May 7-8. The wreck was later carried by the currents to the territorial waters of Romania, where it was spotted on May 11”, the Ministry also specified.
