Ceasefire talks will take place in London

London will host a meeting on a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine today.

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy will host the bilateral meeting along with his Ukrainian counterpart.

Senior officials from the UK, France, Germany, Ukraine will participate.

As for the USA, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff won’t attend — instead, Trump’s envoy for Ukraine, retired General Keith Kellogg, will speak on behalf of America.

Meanwhile, Witkoff will fly to Russia to meet Putin this week.

President Zelensky has been quick to rule out accepting the occupation of Crimea by Russia before these talks, since it has been suggested that Russia will accept peace only in exchange for hefty concessions, particularly as he says he hasn’t been approached with such suggestions by the Russian side.

This comes after months in which negotiations have dragged on among bickering — and no rest for the wicked on Holy Easter, when Russia killed a large number of civilians, though this army is generally said to be slowing down.
