Romanian authorities have reported the lowest daily figure for new coronavirus infections in more than two months, as the number of new cases continues to decline.
The Strategic Communication Group said Tuesday that 119 cases had been confirmed in the last 24 hours It was the lowest figure since March 22, when 66 cases were reported.
The new figure takes the total cases to 19,517 since the first case which was reported in late February.
The virus has claimed 1,279 lives, nine in the last day.
There are currently 166 patients being treated for the disease in intensive care.
There are 2,333 people in institutionalized quarantine and 90,000 people in self-isolation at home under medical supervision.
Almost 450,000 tests have been carried out so far.
A total of 13,526 patients have recovered.
