Romania’s Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu is on an official visit to Britain where he will discuss the war in Ukraine and the situation with top officials.

During his two-day visit to London, Aurescu will have a meeting with Brtain’s Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and he will also have talks with defense Secretary Ben Wallace who visited Romania’s Black Sea NATO base last year.

Romania’s foreign ministry said Aurescu and Cleverly would sign a joint declaration updating the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the UK, outlining “the strategic character of the partnership.”

Talks will also focus on NATO relations and developments in Moldova and Ukraine, both of which Romania shares a border, the foreign ministry said.

The minister will open the first edition of the Romania Bilateral Forum, a new group that brings together government officials, MPs and academics, the business community and the non-governmental sector.

He will also meet members of Romania’s community in the UK, believed to be about one million.
