Three earthquakes hit Romania. No damage reported

Romania was hit by moderate three earthquakes on Thursday taking the total of quakes to 25 this month. There were no reports of damage or injuries.

Two earthquakes had a magnitude of 3, and the third measured 4 on the Richter scale.

They had their epicenter in the Vrancea area northeast of Bucharest, the National Earth Physics Institute said. The region is the most seismic area in Romania.

The first earthquake occurred very early Thursday and the other two struck in the evening.

The strongest temblor measured 4.1 on the Richter scale at a depth of 76 kilometers (about 50 miles)  about 160 kilometers (100 miles) northeast of Bucharest,

Romania has registered 25 earthquakes this month which measured between 2.1 and 4.1 on the Richter scale.

The most powerful quake this year struck on 26 May in the Vrancea region and had 4.7 on the Richter scale. It was felt in Bucharest.
