An armed man has been shot by U.S. Secret Service agents a block from the White House after a confrontation on Sunday around midnight, authorities have reported.

His condition has been reported as “unknown” by the Secret Service, though he is currently in hospital.

How it happened? The Secret Service was alerted by local police towards an allegedly “suicidal individual” who was traveling from Indiana.

In the vicinity, located both the man’s car and a person matching his description on foot outside the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

More exactly, More exactly, on March 8, DC Metropolitan police sent out a “BOLO” received from police in North Manchester, Indiana concerning a 27-year-old man driving to the Washington, DC area who may be armed, emotionally disturbed, and seeming to want to attempt suicide by cop (sources say that they found a note), reports the CNN.

Nobody else was injured. President Trump was in Florida for the weekend.

“As officers approached, the individual brandished a firearm and an armed confrontation ensued, during which shots were fired by our personnel,” says the Secret Service’s official statement.

Police hasn’t agreed to provide more detail, but because the shooting involved law enforcement officers, The Metropolitan Police Department will investigate it.

Police found another rifle in the young man’s car.
