A Wizz Air flight from Bucharest to Dubai was diverted and made an unscheduled landing in Turkey after passengers were threatened by two other passengers, the company said.

Most of the passengers on the Feb. 2 flight were from Romania, according to local press reports.

One of the passengers on the flight gave  Gândul an eyewitness account.

”There were two Pakistani nationals who were saying “I will kill you’. They held lighters above where the oxygen masks are kept. Romanian passengers immobilized the Pakistanis. One girl had a panic attack and was so scared, she fainted,” the passenger said.

„Our cabin crew handled the situation. The commander decided to fly to Ankara where police intervention was asked for. It landed without incident. Passengers were taken off by police.”

The flight landed in Dubai at 23:46 local time about two and a half hours late, company websits showed.

„Passenger safety is our main priority. The airline has zero tolerance to abusive behavior to passengers and staff,” the statement said.
