Ukraine and Romania will hold the First Black Sea Security conference dedicated to Crimea next week.
The International Crimea Platform will be held in Bucharest on April 12-13, Ukrinform reported quoting a statement from the Ukrainian foresign ministry .
The event will be attended by foreign ministers and defense ministers, heads of international institutions, government officials, and independent experts representing the participants of the International Crimea Platform.
Crimea which was part of Ukraine was annexed by Russia in 2014.

„They will analyze the multidimensional impact of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine on the security situation in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov region and the world, discuss a possible strategy for responding to challenges and threats, as well as the framework of the future configuration of the security system in the region. The focus will also be on issues of information warfare and cyber attacks,” the ministry said.

The conference is organized by the Ukrainian and Romanian foreign ministries and the Ukrainian and Romanian defense ministries in partnership with the Center for Defense Strategies (Ukraine).

The First Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform was held iZagreb, the Croatian capital in October 2022.

Crimea became the focus of international attention when Russia annexed it following a controversial referendum that was not recognized by much of the international community.

The annexation was preceded by a period of political unrest in Ukraine, and tensions between the Ukrainian government and ethnic Russians in Crimea.

The annexation was met with widespread condemnation and sanctions from many Western countries, and the situation in Crimea remains a contentious issue to this day.
