Romania reports highest number of Covid-19 cases in two months

Romania reported 233 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, the highest daily figure in two months.

The Strategic Communication Group also said that six people with virus died in the past 24 hours.

One person was in their 20s and the rest were over 60. They all had preexisting health conditions, authorities said.

The number if new SARS-CoV-2 cases have risen gradually in the past two weeks. Tuesday’s count was the highest since June 1 when 241 cases were posted.

There are 441 patients with Covid-19 being treated in hospital, of which 60 are in intensive care units.

 

Romania has recorded 1,084,000 cases since the pandemic began last year. Some 34,297 people who caught the virus have died.
